Prior to commencing your family tree research, we will ensure that your requirements have been fully understood, and
that the likelihood of success has been explained to you.
Genealogy research will be conducted as far as possible from original source material. Original documents may need
to be purchased in order for the research to continue. If this is necessary, we will always contact you to obtain
permission prior to the ordering of any certificates.
Timescales in research will be advised in advance and you will be sent regular updates on the progress of your
research so you know at all times how it’s going.
Preliminary searches will be conducted free of charge to ensure further research is feasible.
Where genealogy research cannot proceed to the extent originally anticipated, the reasons for this will be
explained to you and any fees will be reduced on a pro-rata basis. See FAQs for details of pricing basis for family
tree packages and what is considered a reduced package to warrant a pro-rata refund
Ambiguous results will be communicated to you with such wording as “possibly” or “probably” and not cited as fact.
Privacy Policy
In order to receive information or services from Karen Murphy Genealogy Research, you will be asked to submit
personal information about yourself (e.g. name, address, email address). Other personal information such as date of
birth and family information will also need to be provided by yourself in order for genealogy research to take
